Not much to update today. Tyson and I will be working on my
another website for a little bit, but, we will update this one as much
as possible. Tyson is 14lbs today. He really is starting to
hum and coo a lot more. Grandma and Grandpa Holloway came over to
visit Tyson today, and he was a pretty good boy.
OH YEAH! --- Tyson is sleeping like a log through the night. He is
sleeping between 6 and 8.5 hours straight, in the evening. Laura
is enjoying the extra rest, she sure deserves it!
Bye for now, we will be working on www.aab.com
for a while.
By the way, I have NO idea why my images above are being left out.
I have a feeling that the script that "fortune city" is using
to put their banner on this page is messing up my banners.
02/01/00-
All right. I decided to start off this month right with a HUGE
gallery of photos. You can find it HERE.
I hope you all enjoy them. I am still trying to find a format for
the videos that everyone can enjoy. Until I do, I don't foresee updating
the movie section very soon.
Laura is going back to work "half-time" today. This is
our first journey into the real world ( rearing a child and
trying to work ). I know Laura is a little apprehensive to leave
her most precious possession home with Dad. I promised her that we
wouldn't make too much of a mess.
Quick note - I just lost all my e-mail addresses. If you would
please send an e-mail to [email protected]
so that I can update my address book, I would be much obliged.
Enjoy the pictures!

I am so sorry for the delayed updates! I have had lots of requests
to get this site back up as soon as possible, and here it is. The
old site has been "DOWN" as of January 15 due to the fact that
I cancelled my account with AT&T Cable services, and am now using NetZero,
a free internet service.
You will be able to find us here at Fortune
City (a free service) for awhile. Fortune City allows a lot of
space on their sites and usually just places a banner (like the one
above) on your page. This will allow me to put all of tyson older
pictures up that I previously had to remove because of space
constraints.
I am sorry to report that I have not had time to update any of tyson's
photos yet. I do have lots more footage on the camcorder to put
onto the internet, though. I have been working hard on other
projects, but, I am going to have new pictures up soon (like February
3rd at the latest).
NOW TO THE NITTY GRITTY
Tyson just had his 8 week
check-up this last Wednesday. THAT'S
RIGHT: He's 2 months old today! He
now weighs in at an amazing 13 pounds and is nearly 2 feet tall.
He likes to try and stand and still loves to be held. We are both
very proud of him for getting his first shots ever (three of them in the
leg) and not crying much. I think it hurt me more than it hurt
him.
01/11/00-
Tyson is getting bigger everyday. He now weighs nearly 12lbs and
is about 23" long. He likes to stand up with help so that he
can see more of the room. He also likes to sit by himself on the
sofa without anyone holding him.
01/08/00-
Whew, what a week. I think Laura and I are getting the hang of
parenting (I'm sure we have plenty of surprises in store). It's
funny how much life changes when you have a child. I used to
glance sideways at parents in stores with three children running around
them and one screaming its head off. Now, I truly awe at how well
composed the parents are and how well they keep their kids
entertained. I am almost sure that we are spoiling Tyson, or he is
training us really well. He always wants to be held and some times
will cry till he's screaming until he gets picked up. I have to admit I
am usually the first to crumble.
Tyson went to another party this evening
(what can I say, he's an animal). We went to visit with one of
Laura's friends that she hasn't seen in nearly 5 years. We had
lots of fun and so did Tyson (he got held the whole time, so I know he
had fun). Here are some photos of Tyson and
Stephenie at her house.
01/01/00-
Happy New Millennium Everyone!!! We survived! I hope you all had a safe and
Happy New Years. Tyson decided to stay up through the Midnight to
ring in the New Year right.
12/31/99-
Well, this is the last entry for this year. Tyson is starting to
sleep pretty good into the night. Last night he actually slept for
5 hours and, after his feeding, went right back to sleep. We got a
great book for Christmas called On
Becoming Baby Wise by Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam. It
has helped us put Tyson on a schedule. We had been keeping him up long
periods of time to play with him. According to the book, he needed
to spend more time sleeping. It seems the
over stimulation was causing him to have too many "awake
hours" and he would have trouble sleeping at night. He seems
to be having more fun sleeping than hanging out with me! Can you
believe it?
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful New Years. Tyson, Laura,
and I are going to join friends for dinner at Cavanaugh's on Capitol
Lake for dinner and spend the rest of the evening at home. Tyson
has his Baby Gap outfit already pressed and set out for this evenings
festivities. He's so prepared.
12/28/99-
Whew!.... The holidays are almost over. Christmas was really
fun. Tyson was a Month old yesterday! He has changed SO
much since birth. He is gaining weight steadily and with the
exception of a few nights, he is sleeping really good. We couldn't
be more proud. Tyson loves standing now. He can hold himself
up (with a little help) for a couple minutes at a time now. He is
almost big enough to fit into most of his 0-3 months outfits.
12/24/99-
We just got back from Laura's Family's Christmas gathering. I was
pretty proud of Tyson. He actually slept through most of the
excitement and didn't fuss much at all. I sure hope he stays
mellow later on. Laura and I had fun showing off our new addition
to the family. I think they liked seeing him too. I foresee
Christmas photos soon.
12/18/99-
Last night Laura and I had to take Tyson to the hospital. He'd had
some yellow secretion from his left eye for the last day or two so Laura
and I decided to call the Consulting Nurse at GH. After calmly
telling her Tyson's symptoms she tells me that we had to get to Urgent
Care immediately and that they would be expecting us. Laura,
Tyson, and I rush all the way there and wait to get seen by a
doctor. Long story short. The doctor looks at us like the
"typical" first time parents and then explains that he may
have clogged tear ducts, something nearly every newborn endures.
What an adventure. At least we got that drive to the hospital down
pat. I think I got there faster than when Laura was about to
deliver.
Finally some real updates. I have updated the photo page and the
movies page. I forgot to get some still shots for the movies page, so
there are only text links there.
I am doing a lot of shuffling on the photos pages because I am running
out of space.
The Journal Entry Archives should be up soon.
12/17/99-
Soooo sorry for the long time between updates. We've been pretty
busy getting ready for the Holidays. This Christmas we even have a
Tree (our first real one). Tyson has been growing substantially
since the last update. Today he weighs 8 lbs 4 ozs. He is
ready to fit into all the great outfits we have for him. I can't
wait. I will definitely have the camcorder running when he is
wearing all his cute clothes.
The guest book was a bust, I wanted to modify it to work with this
website, but TCI (AT&T... whatever) @Home won't let me.
Another one of their policies is also forcing me to take down the old
pictures and movies so that I can upload new ones.
12/11/99-
Just leaving a quick note today. We are still trying to get the
"perfect" picture of Tyson. It is almost like trying to
obtain live footage of the Loch Ness Monster. Every picture has
one major flaw: eyes are closed, moved head too fast, hand in the
face... the list goes on. I will be posting the photos that we
really like eventually. I heard that we may have some chances of
snow here in Olympia. What size snowboard would Tyson need?
Do we have to pay for a whole lift ticket for him?
I plan to put up a guest book, another photo page, and at least 2 more
movies this week. Check back later if you can.
12/8/99-
Tyson went over to his friend Owen's house to play yesterday.
Jayme took a really cute picture of the two sitting in a bouncer chair
together. You will have to click here to access
the photo. Please be aware that the cuteness factor of the photo
ranges into the high 90's and any female within a 8' radius of the
monitor may say, "Aw, how cute!" - You have been warned.
We had fun trying to take pictures of Tyson for our Christmas
cards. He was very understanding for the first 15 minutes, but
seemed a little short (get it?) after too much fussing.
By the way, for those expecting, you should check out Parentsplace.com.
It is a really great website and has great growth calendars and lots of
great articles.
As soon as I find some more web space I have a few more movies to put
up.
12/6/99-
Tyson is one week old today and is going through a growth spurt.
He is nursing every three hours most of the day. Today we are all going
shopping for Christmas tree stuff as a family. It will be Tyson's
first day out.
Sorry about some of the problems people have been having on the movies
page. I ran out of room on my server to put the movies. Some
of the links may not work temporarily while I find a new home for my
files. You should be able to download Real
Player for FREE to view the movies. Most Audio Visual content
on the net is in this format.
I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support about the
website. It may seem weird to some, but I really do enjoy sharing
my greatest achievement with everyone. Thanks again from all of
us.... Tyson, Laura, and Marcos.
12/5/99-
I am finally ready to put this website on the net. I put most of
it up on my @Home account website. I ran out of room there so I did put
up links on other sites. Some of them may be kind of slow.
The movie section is pretty neat, some of the downloads maybe large for
some of you, but it is truly worth the wait.
Tyson is feeding with Laura right now. He is a real healthy
kid. He is now on a feeding schedule which helps us out a
lot. He slept really good last night. I got 12 hours of
sleep and Laura wakes up every 4-5 hours for feedings during the
night. I can handle this. Tyson likes to stay awake during
the day now for hours at a time. We talk with him a lot. He
mostly grunts and wheezes, but we love him anyway! :-)
12/2/99-
We are leaving the hospital after 2 days. Tyson is learning how to
breastfeed and we feel a little better about leaving. Our first
night is pretty scary. I can't sleep and find myself jumping at
every sound he makes. I spend the entire night holding him from
8pm to 7am. Laura has to wake up every 3 hours for feedings.
We try to dodge the mirrors and talk nice to each other even though I
know we are both cranky. We both
look like zombies. I never read about this in an issue of Parenting.
11/29/99-
WOOO HOOOO!!! The waiting is over. This evening at 2109hrs
Tyson Charles Holloway made his debut into the world. Here's how
the story goes:
2:44am
- Laura's water breaks just as I am getting up to go to work.
3:30am - We go for a walk around our neighborhood, Laura
calls Karen for her to meet us at St. Pete's.
5:00am - We drive to St. Peter's and walk around the grounds
so that we don't have to check in through the emergency room.
6:30am - Laura and I check into Saint Peter's Hospital
7:30am - Nurse confirms that Laura's water has broken, she
is at 1 cm, Dr. Dakin is called and says she will be in later in
the day.
10:30am - Laura is at 2.5 cm, she is in labor and it is beginning
to hurt her. The nurse starts her on Pitocin to increase her
contractions. I think they give her too much.
2:30pm - Laura reaches 5cm, she is pain with the contractions,
we ask the nurse for the epidural.
3:30pm - By the time the anesthesiologist gets to the room,
Laura is at 8cm and in lots of pain.
4:00pm - The epidural is in and Laura is feeling great.
5:00pm - 6:30pm Laura's contraction are settling down
and aren't as strong. She finally gets to 9cm.
7:00pm - Tyson's heart rate is slowing. The doctor
takes Laura off of the Pitocin to let Tyson rest.
8:15pm - Laura is fully dilated and begins her pushing.
9:09pm - Tyson Charles Holloway is born. He weighs
7lbs. 1oz. and is 19.5" long. Both mom and baby are wide
awake and doing excellent. |
11/25/99-
Laura and I are still waiting. Waiting sucks. Our friends
Lorna and Mike are supposed to have there baby soon also. All four
of us think that waiting stinks. I am typing here to kill
time. Thanksgiving is tomorrow. I can't wait for that
either. We are eating at Karen's house (Laura's Mom's) Grandma and
Grandpa Holloway, Aunt Renee, Karen's boyfriend Matt and his son are
going to be there. We are ready Tyson
11/20/99-
We are completely done with Tyson's room and Laura is having her Baby
Shower today. We got so many great gifts. Especially all the
lovely hand made blankets, I believe 5 in all. We now feel
completely ready to own a baby and are very anxious for Ty's arrival.
11/14/99-
I did it! I actually made it through the birthing class, and I
only yawned twice. I even learned a couple of interesting facts,
and what to expect when Laura goes into labor.
11/10/99-
Laura's visit to the Doctor is uneventful. We had to wait almost
an hour for her to record Laura's stats (she is now at
36.5"). We are purchasing the last items we need for Tyson's
bedroom. I see much painting and power tools in my near
future.
11/06/99-
So it comes down to the last 23 days. Tyson is due to be born on
the 29th of November 1999. Just weeks before my
birthday. Laura has been healthy and has felt little discomfort up
until yesterday. She seemed to have caught a cold from a co-worker
and has not had much rest the last couple of evenings.
I picked up some shelves today at Home Depot. I had a silly
realization that I have begun the father's role already. I have
been building things for the last 2 weeks for Tyson to either use or
play with. So begins my saga.
I sure hope we haven't overdone it with the soccer balls. I may be
shelling out wads of cash later on so that Tyson can lay on a couch and
explain his fear of black and white spheres.
11/05/99-
I spent some time today figuring out how I want to lay out the photo
gallery. I hope to make it easy to use so that all my family
members, near and far, can enjoy seeing Tyson's first year with
us. I still need to get a video capture card. btw: The
snappy sucks. Save your money.
11/04/99-
Laura called me from work today. Tyson gave her a REALLY big kick
I am told. She thinks she may have even got a bruise. Tyson
moves constantly, but always quiets down when I put my hand on Laura's
stomach. I sure hope he is as calm and laid back after he is
born. I didn't put it in the title but Tyson's middle name is
Charles.
